Welcome to Fredericktown
Amid the picturesque rural countryside of North Central Ohio lies the Village of Fredericktown. Established in 1807, Fredericktown takes exceptional pride in its historical roots. Along Main Street, quaint shops and eateries reside in historic buildings reminiscent of the village’s 19th century past. Even the occasional horse and buggy coming to town from the nearby Amish community brings the past vividly to life in Fredericktown. Outside the modern Municipal Building on the village square stands the “Ball Sidewalk Clock” built by jeweler and watchmaker Webb C. Ball in the early 1900’s. Directly across the street in the old United Methodist Church, built in 1828, is the Fredericktown Historical Society, home to everything you might want to know about the village and its past. Across the square is the beautiful Victorian-style bandstand. Well maintained historic homes and churches, many a century old or more, line the streets of the original village. Farming is still a predominant source of revenue in the community, with many farms being family owned for over 100 years.
Fredericktown, however, is not “stuck” in the past. Modern facilities, including the police, EMS, and fire departments, the municipal building, Senior Center, Library, and Wellness Center provide state of the art services to residents. Medical and dental offices make health care close to home possible. Newer homes and recreational areas surround the central village.
A number of local industries offer diverse employment opportunities. Assistance and information through the Fredericktown Community Development Foundation, Fredericktown Merchant’s Association and the Knox County Area Development Foundation, as well as, a highly qualified work force of professionals and skilled laborers make Fredericktown attractive to new and existing business
